Here are all of the benefits and perks that are available to Buehler’s employees. Some of these benefits require part-time or full-time status to be eligible.
Full-time employees may elect one of our three health plans. We offer a low-premium HSA plan, along with a Core and Enhanced HRA Core plan. These elections all come with a prescription plan. We have options to include coverage for employee’s spouses and children.
During Open Enrollment, part-time and full-time employees may elect to create a FSA. A FSA allows employees to set aside up to $2,750 (2020) annually to cover the cost of qualified medical expenses. It’s a lot like a savings account but used for qualified health-related costs. FSAs work on an annual plan year basis and are funded through regular payroll deductions on a pre-tax basis.
Part-time and Full-Time employees may elect to enroll in Voluntary Dental coverage. This dental coverage is through Medical Mutual and offers two levels of coverage. The options include coverage for the employee’s spouse and children.
Part-time and Full-Time employees may elect to enroll in Voluntary Vision coverage. This vision coverage is provided through VBA. The options include coverage for the employee’s spouse and children.
Buehler’s provides company-paid Short-Term Disability coverage to Full-Time employees. If an employee is approved for Short-Term Disability, they will be paid 60% of their average wages for up to a period of 26 weeks.
Buehler’s provides company-paid Long-Term Disability coverage to Full-Time employees. This coverage is for employees that become medically disabled for more than 26 weeks.
Buehler’s provides company-paid Life Insurance to Full-Time employees. This coverage is valued at 1.5x an employee’s gross yearly wages.
Part-Time and Full-Time employees are able to elect Voluntary Life Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment coverage for themselves and their families. The coverage is provided through Medical Mutual.
Employees that are 21+ years old are automatically enrolled in our 401(k) plan once they reach the defined eligibility. Full-time employees are enrolled once they are continuously employed for 3 months. Part-time and seasonal employees are enrolled once they are continuously employed for 6 months.
An employee is enrolled in the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) when they reach the age of 21. If an employee who is 21+ years old when hired, then they are enrolled in the plan on their first day. An ESOP is a retirement plan that increases in value as the company’s value increases. Employees are treated as beneficiaries of the company’s stock value, and are awarded shares of the stock every year. This benefit is administered at no cost to employees.
Part-Time and Full-Time employees are awarded Personal Days to use each quarter. Employees may save their personal time and use it throughout the year.
In addition to Personal Days, Full-Time employees are entitled to vacation time. An employee is awarded 1-4 weeks of vacation each year based on the number of years at full-time status.
All employees will earn triple points when enrolled in our rewards program. This essentially equates to $10 off every $167 spent. Program rules still apply.
Buehler offers two $1,000 yearly scholarships to top candidates. Both employees and their dependents are eligible to receive a scholarship.
In lieu of using the accrued advantage points towards in-store purchases, an employee may use their points to receive a discount on gas at Speedway.
Buehler’s has partnered with Emery-Jensen to provide our employees discounted hardware products from their extensive online catalog.
We put people first at Buehler’s and that includes our employees. We are dedicated to rewarding employees that go above and beyond in their positions. Managers and co-workers can all nominate an employee at any time to receive a gift card up to $50 value for their hard work.
Every 5 years that an employee works at Buehler’s, they will receive an opportunity to choose a gift as a token of Buehler’s appreciation for their dedication to the company.
Our pay cycle runs weekly. Employees are paid on Thursdays, unless a holiday offsets the payroll to Friday.
Hourly employees that work on eligible holidays are paid 1.5x their rate.
Employees earn pay raises based on the hours they work. Every 730 hours worked will move an employee to the next pay level on their job’s scale.
