Congratulations to our Ambassador Award winners for 2017  – Nick Thompson and Barb Carlo. Thank your for the contributions you make to our communities! We are so proud of you.

NickThompson Ambassador Award Winner

Nick Thompson works in the Produce Department at our Coshocton store while attending college. Last October, Nick assisted in a medical mission to help the people of Guatemala. Because the area they were in was so dangerous, the team needed watched by a group of armed guards. 

Nick was surprised by his store teammates on March 29 as he walked in the door. Nick’s grandparents were also present to give out the award. Nick received $250 worth of Buehler’s gift cards. 

Barb Carlo Ambassador Award Winner

Barb Carlo works in Food Service at our Medina River Styx store. She was nominated for this award because she uses her sewing skills for charity – sewing pillow cases for homeless shelters, children’s homes and battered women’s shelters. She even makes crayon aprons for the kids. 

Barb was presented her award surrounded by her coworkers on April 5. She was honored with a cake (complete with a sewing machine on it) and $250 in Buehler’s gift cards.

Buehler’s Selfie Sweepstakes (the ”Contest”) starts on March 21, 2017 at 9:00 am Eastern Time (ET). Photos may be submitted through December 31, 2018 at 11:59 pm ET.

Who may enter: The Contest is open to legal U.S. residents 16 years of age or older.

How to Enter: To enter, post a selfie of you and your Buehler’s Restaurant meal (or you inside Buehler’s Restaurant) on Facebook or Twitter with #BuehlersSelfie. Photos deemed by the Sponsor to be inappropriate will be eliminated from the contest entirely at the discretion of the Buehler’s Fresh Foods (the “Sponsor”). You may include a comment when you post your photo if you wish.

All Entries, once submitted to the Contest, become the property of the Sponsor. The Sponsor reserves the right to use the information as the Sponsor deems appropriate.

Prize: Each month one Winner will receive a $10 gift certificate to Buehler’s Restaurant. ARV $10.00.

Italian Sausage & Pepper Skillet Recipe

Italian Sausage & Pepper Skillet Recipe

Here’s a simple dinner recipe that’s so delicious! Saute rainbow peppers and onion and diced tomatoes along with Italian sausage links for a great dinner or lunch. Perfect to serve on a bun for a tasty sandwich too!
Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. (19 oz.) Johnsonville® Italian Mild Sausage Links, cooked and bias-sliced
  • 1 small red pepper, julienne stripped
  • 1 small green pepper, julienne stripped
  • 1 small yellow pepper, julienne stripped
  • 1 small onion, julienne stripped
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 tsp. ground basil
  • 1 can (14.5 oz.) Italian diced tomatoes
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook one package of Johnsonville Italians according to package directions. Bias-slice and keep warm.
  2. Julienne strip peppers and onion and set aside.
  3. In a large pan add olive oil and garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds.
  4. Add vegetables to oil and garlic and sauté an additional 5 minutes or until crisp tender.
  5. Add basil, tomatoes and sausage. Heat through, seasoning to taste with salt and pepper.

Brie and Grape Grilled Cheese Sandwich Recipe

A gourmet grilled cheese sandwich that is simple to make, this Brie and Grape Grilled Cheese recipe will surprise your taste buds with the sweet, juicy grapes and crispy bacon smothered in melted Brie.

Ingredients

  • 12 slices Applewood smoked bacon, cooked crisp and chopped
  • 1/2 stick butter, unsalted, soft
  • 8 slices sourdough bread
  • 3/4 pound Brie, sliced
  • 1/2 pound Chilean grapes, cut in half
  • 1 ounce arugula
  • To taste, salt and freshly ground pepper

Preparation

  1. Spread butter on one sides of each of the sliced bread.
  2. Layer the un-buttered sides of 4 of the bread slices with equal amounts of Brie, chopped bacon, grapes and arugula.
  3. Top with remaining bread slices, buttered sides up.
  4. Cook sandwiches on a griddle until Brie has melted and the bread is golden brown on each side.
  5. Slice in half and serve.

Buehler’s Bridal Open House is  March 4

Let your wedding planning begin at Buehler’s Jackson Township (Canton) Bridal Open House event on Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The Open House, located at 7138 Fulton Drive, NW, Canton, Ohio, will showcase the latest trends in food, flowers and cakes. This event is free, and open to the public.

Brides-to-be are welcome to come and taste free food and cake samples prepared by Buehler’s accomplished chefs and talented bakers. Discuss your dream wedding with Buehler’s Catering Specialists, Cake Decorators, Floral Designers, All Events Rental, Linde’s Bridal & Prom, and Buehler’s Beer & Wine Department. Music will be provided by William Hall. Multiple partnering event sites will be on display as well.

“This is a great opportunity for future brides to see, taste and experience the vision for their wedding day,” stated Mike Merritt, VP of Food Service at Buehler’s. “Our goal is to show brides the possibilities, and then customize to make their day delicious and easy.”
