Harvest for Hunger Campaign begins today at E&H Family Group stores: Buehler’s Fresh Foods and ACE Hardware
Harvest for Hunger is a cooperative effort of Ohio Foodbanks and takes place every February/March. All Buehler’s Fresh Foods locations will be actively supporting this campaign which runs now through Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016. Joining the campaign this year will be ACE Hardware locations under the E&H Family Group umbrella.. Customers at both Buehler’s and ACE may donate $1, $5, $10, or any amount they wish at the checkout.
“We want to assure our customers that their donations will stay local,” stated Dan Shanahan, Buehler’s President and COO. “They can view the list of local member agencies in their community, such as food pantries, shelters and other hunger-relief programs, benefiting directly from their Harvest for Hunger donation.”
Scott Buehler, E&H Hardware President and COO added, “ACE Hardware is proud to join Buehler’s in the effort to fight hunger. Working together, we can achieve great things to make a difference for our neighbors and friends.”

In addition to these foodbanks, Buehler’s is also partnering with the Mid-Ohio Foodbank to cover their Coshocton, Ohio location.

The store is currently a True Value Hardware, and will be converted to Appleseed ACE Hardware. The store phone number will remain the same 419-756-8340.
Jerry Rentfrow, owner of Appleseed True Value Hardware, will retire after 24 years of operating this local business. Jerry began his career as a banker in Grand Rapids, MI. That year he and his family moved to Mansfield and purchased Getz True Value.
“Helping people has been the most rewarding part of my hardware career,” Jerry reminisced. “Looking back I am reminded of the many hard working employees and loyal customers that have made our business successful.” While he will miss the daily interaction with long-time friends and customers, he and his wife Anne look forward to beginning a new chapter of their lives as they spend more time traveling with friends and family, and relaxing at their family cottage on Pleasant Hill Lake.
The Appleseed True Value Hardware will close at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 27 and reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 3 (or sooner). This will give E&H Hardware time to do a minor remodel and prepare the store for the ACE conversion.Existing House Accounts are encouraged to complete a new application so they are able to purchase product during this time. The rental department will remain open during this short period.
All departments will be expanded, including; lawn and garden, outdoor power equipment, builder’s hardware, electrical, housewares, and tools.
