Millersburg Hardware Transitioning to New Ownership This Spring

WOOSTER, Ohio – December 8, 2016

Family-owned E&H Hardware Group is in the process of finalizing details to purchase Millersburg True Value Hardware, located at 70 N. Washington St., Millersburg, OH, in early February 2017. Shortly thereafter the store will transition from True Value to Ace Hardware, ultimately bearing the name E&H Ace Hardware.

Millersburg True Value Hardware is a second generation business that was founded by Junior and Barb Yoder in 1972, initially opening in a Millersburg storefront on Jackson Street. In 1978 the business moved to its present location on Washington Street. Today, the 44 year old hardware is owned by Joel Yoder (son of Junior) and his wife, Kristen. Although Joel and Kristen Yoder have enjoyed serving their loyal customers, they look forward to a new chapter as the business transitions to new ownership. They will stay involved within the community through their other business, Village Toy Shop of Millersburg. Joel will also continue his career as a Certified Public Accountant with Rea and Associates, Inc. “We couldn’t have asked for a better situation to ensure the best possible future for a hardware store in Millersburg. We found a local family-owned business that shares our values about community, family, and customer service. We are also excited that many of our staff members will be transitioning to the Ace Hardware team,” states Joel Yoder.

The Millersburg True Value Hardware will close at 8:00 pm on Friday, February 3 and reopen at 8:00 am on Monday, February 6 as E&H Ace Hardware.  Existing “house accounts” are encouraged to complete a new application with E&H Ace Hardware to continue credit benefits.

In the weeks following the transfer, product lines will be refreshed and popular store departments, including an expanded selection of plumbing and electrical, will be enhanced. The new E&H Ace Hardware will also continue to be a destination for Husqvarna products and service. A full service paint department will offer Valspar, Clark+Kensington, and custom color matching. Small engine service and repair is also planned.

“The Millersburg Hardware team has built a solid community-oriented business and we are fortunate enough to continue the family-owned tradition under the E&H Ace Hardware name”, stated Scott Buehler, President & COO of E&H Hardware Group.

Additional employees may be hired to fill the void left by the current owners. Job postings may be found on www.indeed.com by searching Ace Hardware.

Cricket Yard Equipment will transition next month to a newly renovated space within E&H Ace Hardware’s Westlake store, located at 27255 Detroit Road, Westlake, OH.

Cricket Yard Equipment is a first generation business that began in 1979.  Owners Craig and Nan Baker began their business in a parcel van selling and servicing equipment at homes with the slogan ‘Cricket Comes to You’.  In 1981 they rented an abandoned storefront on Center Ridge Road in Westlake and later built their multi-unit retail center at the same location. Although they will have the retail center to manage, Craig and Nan are pleased to see Cricket Yard Equipment continue with Ace Hardware in Westlake.  After 37 successful years in the power equipment business, Craig and Nan are looking forward to enjoying life with a little more free time.

The Westlake Ace location will become an authorized dealer and service point for both Honda and Toro power equipment while also continuing to sell and service Stihl power equipment; Echo and Snapper brand service will remain available, as well.
