Buehler’s Fresh Foods Names Mike Davidson, VP of Operations
Buehler’s Fresh Foods has selected Michael (Mike) Davidson Vice President of Store Operations. Mike will work closely with Buehler’s leadership team and store managers, reporting to President and COO, Dan Shanahan.
“We welcome Mike to the Buehler team,” stated Dan Shanahan, President and COO. “His extensive experience and broad knowledge of retail grocery operations made him a natural fit for this position.”
Mike brings nearly 30 years of operational leadership experience, including brand development/execution, operations management, merchandising experience, customer service, and food service execution with retailers as Price Chopper Supermarkets, Tops Friendly Markets, Finast and Ahold USA.. He has significant experience in training, food service and fresh goods, as well as team building.
Mike and his wife, Joanna, have three grown children; Danielle (Mike), Robert (Marie), and Nathaniel (Julia), and five grandchildren. The couple is in the process of moving to the Wooster area.

Industry peers and officials have given recent recognition to Buehler’s accomplishments by awarding: 2016 Leadership Partner and 2015 Harvest for Hunger Check Out Hunger Partner of the Year by the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank, 2015 “Store of the Month” by Progressive Grocer, 2014 Retailer of the Year (Cleveland Food Dealer Association), Ohio Business Profile (Jon Husted, Ohio Secretary of State), Resolution – food and agriculture (John Kasich, Governor of Ohio), and GreenChill Partnership and Achievement Awards for sustainability and environmental practices.
Buehler’s Fresh Foods.Wooster Milltown and Nobles Pond Canton locations will host Madison Laney, recently crowned 2016 Alabama Watermelon Queen. Madison brings her product knowledge, recipes, and customer giveaways to Buehler’s, just in time for the holiday weekend. Everyone is welcome to come and meet Madison at Wooster Milltown on Friday, May 27, noon to 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., and at Nobles Pond Canton on Saturday, May 28, 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
“We are excited for our customers to meet Madison and learn more about the benefits of eating watermelon,” stated Jeff Tomassetti, Buehler’s Director Produce and Floral. “Madison will be offering watermelon tastings, recipe demos, and sharing stickers and coloring books with the kids.”
The Alabama Watermelon Queen is a public relations representative for the watermelon industry. Madison represents the Alabama Watermelon Association, sharing her knowledge on the nutritional benefits and versatility of watermelon.She visits schools, farms, farmers’ markets, televisions stations, grocery stores, and watermelon festivals. Once her reign is complete she will compete for the 2017 National Watermelon Queen title in Lake Tahoe, Nevada where she will have the opportunity to share the watermelon message throughout the United States and abroad.
Miss Madison Laney of Ariton, Alabama was crowned at the annual Alabama Watermelon Association Convention held in February.She is a student at the University of Alabama, majoring in fashion and retail design.
